It's little use raising our hands and getting on "a high" if our musical worship doesn't affect our daily lives. So what song or line has impacted you most this year . . . and why? I'm restricting it to just 2009 for now.

nothing this year I can think of

U2's "Magnificent" tho not strictly Christian material - there are moments in the song when he glorifies God for his gift of music -- these words really move me :
"I was born
I was born to sing for you
I didn’t have a choice but to lift you up
And sing whatever song you wanted me to
I give you back my voice
From the womb my first cry, it was a joyful noise…"

It was released in 2008, but I didn't discover it until this year. Does that count?

"Your Love Never Fails" by Chris Quilala / Jesus Culture Music.

OK Wahba, if it affected you this year then that definitely counts. After all, sometimes oldies can come back and hit us in a way that didn't affect us first time round.
I was recently deeply moved by Chris Tomlin's words in Indescribable! (You Are Amazing God):
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
The tears just flowed. I felt what I can only describe as a joyous ache inside that our merciful Creator should love me even though He knows what a scumbag I am.
He really is an amazing God!

Er, c'mon you guys. We're on a website surrounded by worship leaders and musicians -- we'd like to hear why the song moved you and how it inspired you. Did certain words have you rushing out to feed the homeless, or traipsing, Bible in hand, barefoot across Africa? Or, more likely, did the song inspire you to draw closer to God in other aspects of worship?
After being left in tears by Chris Tomlin's words (above) I was inspired to spend more time just thanking God. My worship, throughout the day, is punctuated by thanks: when I turn on a tap and water flows; when the gas bill arrives (yep, I don't like the figures, but I praise God I don't have to go out into the bush looking for kindling); when I arrive home safe from a journey; when the sun shines; when it rains . . . there is no end to the reasons for thanking God -- even in a global recession.

I stated Never Would Have Made It by Marvin Sapp. I believe the song became a huge hit because of the true simple sincerity of the message. And every time I hear it and sing it I am just moved to a place of thankfulness- where I am reminded of the situations and difficulties I have arisen from that he alone gets the glory. And then as I look back, like the lyrics state, I realize I truly am "wiser, stronger and better."- Glory to God! That is why he deserves our true worship, we alone can take no glory. It was not our power- His alone. Deut 8.

I found out I'm still keeping score after all these years of knowing I can't do anything except through Christ!! I realized this year about how much of a shell of a Christian I am at the best of times.

I was worshipping in my living room on that song "This is our God" from Hillsong two days ago and while worshipping I believe the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart concerning treating all people like if they were Jesus. I felt God told me to humble myself and have a servant attitude toward everyone even people younger than me. It relates to where Jesus said to his followers whatever they did to the prisoners, hungry and poor they did to Him.
