Grumpy, but been busy moaning in other directions and at other people.

Can I be grumpy and moan about the way that worship is becoming more of a marketable spectator event?

I want to get back to basics, in church, with no celebrity worship leaders and speakers.

Just worship GOD, not the church nor the leaders.

Moan moan moan moan.......... moan moan moan moan.................moan..........

Greg and Paul,

Hey, if your replies are 'moans' then I'd say 'moaning' is the way forward : ) Pure joy to my ears, sheer honesty, I love it : )

This group is the place to be! Thanks David for starting and Wayne for prompting :)

God Bless you guys. Lorraine

ps. I'm rushing around but will return with my own 'moans'

Hi, have had a listen......am well impressed. Eat your heart out Hillsong!
"Now that would make some people grumpy who like Hillsong to the exclusion of all else!"

Good--let 'em be grumpy!!!! :-} Many CCM songs NEED to be changed up!!

Wow, has Kim Gentes actually become a recognizable name these days?  Way, way back when, I helped him put together a database of worship songs (what song is in what book, what key, what CDs, who wrote, copyright, etc.) that decame the database of worshipteam.com.  Saw something the other day that he has a song out with Brian Thiessen.  Somebody I know actually became famous????

*Praise* isn't a bad thing to do by any means.

:-)

Oh, what a beautiful moanin'...   (it actually is -- summer's here, high in the 70's, balmy zephyrs, sunlight, sunlight in my soul today... it's 1:09 in the morning, but I'm still remembering yesterday, and they predict mostly sun for today and three or four more days in a row).  The replies have all sorts of non-grumpy attitudes -- people who want to worship God without all the folderol that gets folks grumpy -- and, praise the Lord, we are free in Christ, so we can do exactly that!

Ya - - - hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Amen indeed : )
Amen and amen!

Going grumpier by the day I think. Wanted to add my mandolin to the mix, but they need a bass player now, not mandolin. Need to get back to bass I guess. The churches needs over my wants - which is the way it should be but I sold my bass to concentrate on other instruments.

I guess I am grumpy cause the bass's weight is hugh compared to the mando :) . Getting to old to carry a bass and amp............ grumble grumble.

Don't grump at me.  I just climbed a mountain today.  I'll talk with you tomorrow about carry anything or lifting anything heavier than a glass of cold ice water.

Actually, if you ever get to Oregon, climb Saddle Mountain (3283' but starts at 1600').  It is so utterly awesomely beautiful and the trail is real Oregon with roots in it and stuff, and not too much safety safety nonsense.  August here is the best month, unlike anywhere else.

Time to acquire a semi or an EB0 type, by the sound of things. I do sympathise - my J type makes my shoulder ache after an hour, and I'm only 50.
