Christmas is such a unique and special time in the church. We have the true light and hope that people need and are perhaps more open to receiving in that season! Are you thinking through your Christmas music this year yet?
1. Please accept this FREE MP3 download of a new Christmas song for the church called "Hope Is Here (Joy To The World)" It's one of the most downloaded charts right now on PraiseCharts.com and I think you'll like it. http://www.danmacaulay.com/danMacaulay_HopeIsHere-JoyToTheWorld.mp3 (also an attachment to this post)
2. Completely separate from that gift, let me ask you: What has been your favorite Christmas song / song version to lead at your church? I'm already thinking towards what to do in my own church this year! Always open to new versions / arrangements / songs that'll bless the people I lead!

Yeah. I sometimes have to make a point to other musicians that there is a reason why those songs (and others) have been around for hundreds of years. It's cause they're good! Well written, easy to learn/recognize, sticks in your head, and meaningful lyrics.
God Bless!

Permalink Reply by Graeme Harvey on November 20, 2011 at 9:13pm Got to be the "Sussex Carol" ("On Christmas night all Christians sing") - especially if it's sung in a joyful, robust, praise-filled way (not the twee, tinkling versions you hear sometimes that sap the life and the power out of it).
Just look at these words:
"On Christmas night all Christians sing
To hear the news the angels bring
On Christmas night all Christians sing
To hear the news the angels bring
News of great joy, news of great mirth
News of our merciful King's birth.
Then why should men on earth be so sad
Since our Redeemer made us glad
Then why should we on earth be so sad
Since our Redeemer made us glad
When from our sin, He set us free
All for to gain our liberty.
When sin departs before His grace
Then life and health come in its place
When sin departs before His grace
Then life and health come in its place
Angels and men with joy may sing
All for to see the newborn King.
All out of darkness we have light
Which made the angels sing this night
All out of darkness we have light
Which made the angels sing this night
Glory to God and peace to men
Now and for evermore. Amen."
That's not a christmas Carol, that's old-fashioned gospel-based praise and worship.
Yay!

There is no 'one way'.
Some of you are doing things I have never thought of.
Our God is BIG and creative and His people are diverse and creative in His image!
