I'm currently reading God's Favorite House by Tommy Tenney. I read the first chapter. I'm a man who is always after the heart of worship, always wanting to worship God with my heart, not with a mask that i put on when i have a mic in my hand. The first chapter talks about the Tabernacle of David. It says in Acts chapter 15 that God says "After this I will return and will rebuilod the tebernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up." Then the author asks why David's Tabernacle, why not Solomon's in all it's splendor, or the original Tabernacle, Moses'. Then he goes on to talk about how God wanted to rebuild David's because of the encounter God had with his children in that tebernacle. God misses the heart that came out of David's Tabernacle. Just a little something to think about. Questions? Comments?

This is one of my favourite book. In one of the chapter, Tommy said that if you build it God will come ....
Yes if we build a platform of Praise and Worship from our HEART ... he will not only come but will DWELL!

I've never read Tommy Tenneys book, but I agree with your burden. I just wanted to point out a blog I wrote on this same subject. http://www.worshiptherock.com/profiles/blogs/the-church-of-zion I hope it blesses you.

I have heard of the Tabernacle o David as referring to worship and praise being lifted up 24 hrs a day. David mustered in hundred and even thousands of musicians and singers to take turns praising the Lord at the Tabernacle. He had so many lined up, that they could take turns and have rest times, and there would still be praise and worship at the house of the Lord. It seems like practice for what goes on in the throne room of the Lord. Being a prophet (among other things) David may very well have glimpsed the throng around the throne singing Holy Holy Holy (Kadosh Kadosh). It is certainly the measure of a man with a heart for the things of the Lord. This could be what the Lord is referring to, continual praise and worship. Of course, I may be missing the point.

One of the powerful points about the Tabernacle of David is the fact that there was no veil seperating the holy place and the holy of holies. It was just one tent and all of the priest were praising and worshipping before the arc which would normally would have killed any of them. David tapped into a measure of the dispensation of grace that we are now living in. He reached into the future by faith and was able to come boldly before the throne of God.
I've often thought about what happened when they brought the arc into Jerusalem and Uzza got killed because they carried the arc in a cart rather than the priests carrying the arc like it said in the Law so when he touched it to prevent it from falling, he died. So they went back and read the book of the Law, gathered the priests to carry the arc but then did something totally contrary to the Law and didn't set up the tabernacle of Moses as prescribed in the Law. Evidently their faith pleased God.

The temple was rebuilt. Its you and I. We are the temple. We have the presence of the Living God inside of us. The reason Jesus came was to do away with a physical building in which only 1 man could enter the presence of God. Now, EVERYONE can enter into the presence because it lives inside of us. We are one with His presence.
