We have communion on the first Sunday of every month, and am on the look out for good communion songs. I know there are a few good hymns...but what songs do you use to lead people into communion?

The ones we have used here are: Once Again
Jesus, Thank You
Come Share the Lord

Also would love to do a service in which the whole Sunday service is focused on Communion. Anyone ever do that? If so, curious what the order of service was and how it was done.

I'm surprised no one has suggested Leelands Bread has been Broken it works well with communion

In remembrance of me by Cherri Keagy is a beautiful song.

I lead at a liturgical church so we do communion every week.  It is the pinnacle of our service so we do quite a bit of communion music. (two to three songs every week)  Because it is an every week occurrence we tend to not focus the theme of the songs on communion itself but on the theme of the scriptures and message for the day.  However, I do have some suggestions:

1) Josh Garrels version of the song "Break Bread" is absolutely great...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlELd-R_oOU

2) Thy Mercy, My God  - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ4CkuCxwP4

3) Jesus Paid It All is a great one for the end of communion.
4) You Have Redeemed My Soul

This one's taken from Scripture word for word..."Take Eat, This is My Body"

2 Corinthians 11:23-26 "For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;  and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes."

Free download of mp3 and sheet music for this Scripture song available here: http://www.m-csn.com/EstherMui/SOCovenant.htm

Our church used to do a communion once a month during Sunday service, but in the past few months we have moved it to once a month on Friday nights. we get about 150 for the service (Sunday we do about 850 to 950 on two services) and we do a full hour service devoted just to communion and why we receive it.
